Since Mrs. Nana Ishii’s passing, it was decided that Rev. George Inouye be the Acting President of Seicho-No-Ie Canada Inc. at the board of directors meeting on April 8^th.. And Movement policy 2007 in Canada was also decided based on the Movement policy of the International Headquarters at the meeting. Let us cooperate and expand the deeds of love to make Canadian people happy as much as possible.

MOVEMENT POLICY 2007 IN CANADA

Basic Thinking

   Members in Canada will again, while giving their deepest and most profound gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi and Mrs. Teruko Taniguchi who, 77 years ago, founded the Seicho-No-Ie Movement, earnestly study the teachings as taught to us by the President of Seicho-No-Ie, Rev. Seicho Taniguchi, and Vice President, Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, and practice the “sundial way of life” daily,” and with that joy, brightly and cheerfully, promote the Humanity Enlightenment Movement-International Peace by Faith Movement proactively throughout this year 2007.

  The Seicho-No-Ie Vice President, Rev. Masanobu Taniguchi, gives the members the following guidance in his 2007 New Year’s message:  

     …I would like all members of Seicho-No-Ie to understand that the prevention of global warming is a type of “giving of a material gift.”  There is a need for Seicho-No-Ie to continue the “giving of the spiritual gift” by sharing the Truth that “man is a child of God” to as many people as possible, but we are also being asked to make the sadness and grief of those who are being robbed of their homelands and becoming environmental refugees due to the effects of global warming, and the misery of those who are suffering from starvation our own.  However, for this “giving of material things” to be truly effective, it must be in concert with the “giving of the spiritual gift” that not only humanity, but all living things, are one in God, in other words our propagation.  I believe that it is in this way, where the giving of the teachings and the giving of material things progresses and balances each other that we have a current-day religious movement.

  Seicho-No-Ie members will take these words of the Vice President in mind, and carry out the “First Phase Five –Year Plan” for the realization of “A Movement That Grows With Nature,” and, according to the current expansion situation, unfold a Movement that balances “the giving of the teachings” with” the giving of material things.”(※International Headquarters started “First Phase Five –Year Plan” for the realization of “A Movement That Grows With Nature,” this year.)

Enlightenment Activities

1) International Headquarters will encourage the Ordained Minister, Regional Lecturers, Enlightenment Leaders, Officers residing in Canada to participate in the “Seicho-No-Ie Special Conference for World Peace” that will be held in the United States in New York on August 4-5, 2007, under the guidance of the Seicho-No-Ie Vice President, Rev. and Mrs. Masanobu Taniguchi

2) Leaders’ Seminars planned by International Headquarters will be held in Toronto Missionary Area and Vancouver District.  The contents of these seminars will focus on the material studied at the previous Special Conferences, as well as the material studied at the 2005 Special Leadership Training Seminar held by the InternationalSpiritualTrainingCenter, in order to heighten the propagation abilities of the leaders. 

3)   International Headquarters will provide the necessary support for the establishment of “SEICHO-NO-IE (Canada) Regional Lecturers’ Regulations” and so forth. 

4)    International Headquarters will provide study material and necessary support for Study Classes, etc. that are held in Canada under the guidance of the Toronto Missionary Area Chief/Resident Minister of Canada so that Canada will be able to administer the Regional Lecturer’s examination.

5)    International Headquarters will encourage the incorporation of the theme surrounding the relationship between peace-environment-resources at Readers’ Meetings, Truth Realization Seminars, Public Lectures, Spiritual Training Seminars, etc. held in Canada in order to share the fact with as many people as possible that faith in the one absolute God of goodness is essential, and will provide materials, etc. and support to help make this possible.

Management and Supervision

1) International Headquarters will provide the necessary cooperation for the improvement of the corporation’s bylaws.

2) In order for SEICHO-NO-IE [Canada] to maintain tax exempt status, International Headquarters will provide the necessary cooperation for the improvement in administrative and managerial matters and system of handling Holy Mission Fellowship membership fees. 

3) So that Seicho-No-Ie Canada can establish a work structure that is kind and considerate of the environment, International Headquarters will provide materials, etc. and support.

As Individuals:

・Encourage members to practice the 3 important religious practices daily to deepen our faith (practice Shinsokan, read the Holy Sutras and other holy books and deeds of love).

・Urge members to practice “Prayer For World Peace” everyday.・Encourage newcomers to join the Holy Mission Fellowship and subscribe to the monthly magazines.

・Leaders and Members shall aim for global environmental conservation and implement and begin with what they can do within their own homes.  

Others:

1)  Strive to upgrade the contents of the Sunday Service.

2) Mention the following subjects at Sunday Services – subscriptions to monthly magazines / encouragement of volunteer activities / donation

3) Introduce joyful testimonies in the newsletter.
